Handyman and Home Remodeling in Knoxville, TN

Ryan Curtis, handyman and remodeling for homes in Knoxville, Farragut, Oak Ridge and Maryville. Repair lists, painting and full remodels, done by one hands-on contractor from the first walkthrough to the last look-over.

What we do

Nine services, led by handyman work, for Knoxville area homes

Start with a small repair list or a full remodel. Every service below is work shown in our own job photos, and a job can mix two, like a bath remodel with new floors and fresh paint.

About the work

What does Curtis Can Do LLC handle for homes around Knoxville?

Curtis Can Do LLC is a home-based handyman and remodeling business run by Ryan Curtis, serving Knoxville, Farragut, Oak Ridge and Maryville, Tennessee. Handyman work comes first: drywall repair, fixture swaps, shelving, trim, doors, soffit and exterior repairs, and punch lists. From there the nine services also cover painting, pressure washing, garage conversions, bathroom renovation, kitchen renovation, flooring, carpentry, and deck and patio installation.

Ryan does the work himself, so the person who walks your house is the person doing the job. Every project starts with a walkthrough and measurements, then a written scope and quote, so you see what is included before anything comes out. Small repairs are welcome, and when a lighter fix will do the job, such as refinishing tile instead of replacing it, we say so. Work that needs a licensed plumber or electrician is not something we do ourselves.

How it works

From first call to final walkthrough in five steps

The same steps apply to a small repair and a full remodel. Timing and cost depend on the scope, which we put in writing after the walkthrough.

  1. Call or send a request

Call, or use Get a Quote to send the room, the rough scope and your town. A short description and a few photos make the first conversation more useful.

  2. Walkthrough and measurements

We come to the house, look at the space and take measurements. This is where we check conditions like a soft subfloor or an out-of-square wall and talk through materials.

  3. Written scope and quote

You get the scope and the quote in writing. It spells out what is included and what depends on what we find, so the numbers match the work.

  4. The work, with cleanup

We do the work and keep the area as tidy as the job allows. How cleanup and daily access are handled is something we confirm with you at the walkthrough.

  5. Final walkthrough

We go through the finished work together, and anything that needs a touch-up gets noted. Then you have a finished room instead of a to-do list.

About Ryan

Meet Ryan Curtis

Ryan runs Curtis Can Do LLC and does the work himself, from a drywall patch to a bathroom tear-out. That is him in the photo, on a bathroom demo.

He is often out fishing Tennessee water early in the morning and back on a job by afternoon. Neighbors on Nextdoor named the business a Neighborhood Favorite, and it holds an A+ on BBB.

  • Shows up when he says. If the plan changes, you hear it from him.
  • Does the job right. Prep first, then the finish work, then a look-over with you.
  • Leaves a clean site. He tidies the work area as the job allows.
Why homeowners call

Why homeowners around Knoxville call Curtis Can Do

He does the work himself

The contractor who walks your house is the one doing the work, so what you describe at the walkthrough is what gets built. No handoff to a crew you have not met.

Small jobs and full remodels

A backsplash, a vanity swap or new floors in a hallway get the same attention as a gutted bath or a new deck. You do not need a big project to call.

Budget options, said out loud

Sometimes replacing is not the only answer. Worn bathroom tile can be primed, painted and stenciled instead of ripped out, and we will tell you when that makes sense.

One point of contact

You talk to the same person from the first call through the final walkthrough, which keeps changes, questions and decisions in one conversation.

Service area

Where does Curtis Can Do LLC work around Knoxville?

Curtis Can Do LLC works from Farragut and serves four Tennessee towns. If you are close to one of them, call and ask.

  • Farragut, TN. Our home base in Knox County, west of Knoxville. Most of the jobs here are brick two-story homes that need a bath update, new floors or a backyard deck.
  • Knoxville, TN. Knox County. Kitchen backsplashes, bathroom remodels and flooring in homes across the city, plus garage conversions and carpentry.
  • Oak Ridge, TN. Anderson County, with parts of the city in Roane County. We take on the same range of work here, from small repairs to full remodels.
  • Maryville, TN. Blount County, south of Knoxville. Decks, porches and screened porch additions are common calls, along with bath and floor updates.

The homes we usually work on

  • Brick two-story homes
  • Backyard decks and porches
  • Dated bathroom tile
  • Garages that need to become rooms
  • Halls and rooms ready for new floors
  • Kitchens with tired backsplashes

Older homes with worn tile and newer builds that need a custom touch both get the same walkthrough and written scope.

Questions

Questions homeowners ask before a repair or remodel

How much does a repair or remodel cost?

The price depends on the size of the space, the materials you pick, what is behind the walls or under the floor, and how much needs to be torn out. We do not quote prices without seeing the job. After the walkthrough and measurements you get a written scope and quote, so the number matches the work.

How do I get started?

Use the Get a Quote button or call during business hours. Tell us the room, what you want changed and your town, and send a few photos if you have them. We follow up to set up a walkthrough and measurements, which is the first real step.

Which areas do you serve?

We work from Farragut and serve homes in Farragut, Knoxville, Oak Ridge and Maryville, Tennessee. If you live just outside those towns, call and ask. We would rather tell you honestly whether we can get to you than leave you guessing.

How long will my project take?

It depends on the scope. A backsplash or a floor in one hallway is a very different job from a full bath remodel or a new deck. We talk through scheduling at the walkthrough and put the plan in the written scope, and we tell you early if a material or a surprise behind a wall changes things.

Do you take small handyman jobs?

Yes, and they are where a lot of calls start. Drywall patches, fixture swaps, shelves, trim, a sticking door, soffit repairs or a list of small fixes are all welcome. Small jobs get the same walkthrough and written scope as large ones, and we will not push a bigger project on you when a smaller fix solves the problem.

Can you help me choose materials?

Yes. At the walkthrough we talk through tile, plank, trim, railings and finishes that suit the space and your budget, and we can show what the options mean for the work involved. Final selections go into the written scope, so there are no surprises about what gets installed.

Can we stay in the house during the work?

Usually yes, though it depends on the project. A deck or a floor in one room is easy to live around, while a kitchen or the only bathroom takes planning. We talk through access, dust, water shutoffs and cleanup at the walkthrough so you know what daily life looks like during the job.

Do you do plumbing or electrical work?

Work that needs a licensed plumber or electrician is not something we do ourselves. We will tell you at the walkthrough if your project involves it, so you can line up the right person. We can plan the rest of the job around their visit, whether that is a bathroom remodel, a kitchen update or a garage conversion.
